Toronto International Student Animation Festival
Initially founded as a school board-sponsored event, the Toronto International Student Animation Festival was looking for a total brand refresh as it prepared to expand into an unaffiliated public venture during its fourth & fifth year.
Much of the festival’s original marketing featured photographic elements of a Cycladic head, based on the shape of the trophies awarded at each year’s ceremony. I knew I wanted to carry that motif over in some form, and ended up echoing it symbolically in a newly illustrated logo. The other big goal on this project was to inject their promo materials with colour and life where they had previously been a little more reserved and formal.
